Q1. What does an EcoVadis consultant do?
An EcoVadis consultant helps a company prepare for its EcoVadis assessment and improve its score. This includes building policies, putting actions and KPIs in place, organising evidence for each question and creating an improvement plan from the scorecard. Greendot is an independent consultant and is not part of EcoVadis.
Q2. Is EcoVadis a certification?
No. EcoVadis is a sustainability rating, not a certification. Companies receive a score out of 100 and may earn a Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum medal. People often call this “EcoVadis certification”. The scorecard and medal are valid for 12 months.
Q3. How are EcoVadis medals awarded?
Medals are based on percentile ranking against companies rated in the previous 12 months: Platinum for the top 1%, Gold for the top 5%, Silver for the top 15% and Bronze for the top 35%. A minimum score of 30 in each of the four themes is also required.
Q4. What are the four EcoVadis themes?
EcoVadis assesses Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. Each theme is scored based on your policies, actions and reported results.
Q5. How can we improve our EcoVadis score?
Most score gains come from formal policies for each theme, real actions with measurable KPIs, proper evidence for every answer and public sustainability reporting. Management systems such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 37001 also strengthen the score.
Q6. How long does EcoVadis preparation take?
Most companies are ready to submit in about 6 to 10 weeks, depending on how many policies and records already exist. EcoVadis then reviews the submission before issuing the scorecard.
Q7. What does EcoVadis consulting cost in India?
The cost depends on company size, number of sites, current policies and whether it is a first assessment or an improvement project. The EcoVadis subscription fee is paid separately to EcoVadis. Greendot shares a clear quote after a free EcoVadis Gap Check.
